Each year, volunteers across Canada come together to give their time to help make Mother's Day Walk an event that each participant will treasure.
Every hour donated impacts the lives of those affected by breast cancer!
Here are some great ways to help:
1. Walk Committee: Walk committee members help with the overall organization of the event. Assistance with the acquisition of donations i.e. food, beverage, entertainment and give-aways is valued. Volunteers also assist with promoting the walk, distributing promotional material etc. Walk Committee volunteers are required to attend 2-4 evening meetings between February and May.
2. Walk Day Volunteer- Set up/Tear Down: This involves physical tasks like moving and carrying tables, setting up tents and equipment. Please note: This is usually a 5-6 hour day and volunteers will be required to attend 1 pre-event meeting.
3. Walk Day Volunteer (activities): Help out at various stations like the “Celebration” survivor booth, activities for kids, flowers, balloons, registration, food and beverage. Please note: This is usually a 5-6 hour day and volunteers will be required to attend 1 pre-event meeting.
